Meet Jose: From Parachute Rigger to IT Pro

When you are done jumping out of planes, what’s your next career move?

For Jose Serna, Jr., a retired Navy Parachute Rigger, it was working for a government contractor in and around aircraft. However, Jose had always enjoyed computers and technology.

It was an encounter at a Recruit Military event where he found ACI Learning Tech Academy. He saw a lot of options, but it was the Information Security Analyst Program that appealed to him.

The Information Security Analyst Program immerses the student in an interactive environment where the instructors use lectures, guided discussions, and hands-on lab experiences to demonstrate and help students explore key skills and methods used in information security. Students examine cyber network defense from three approaches: prevention, reaction, and retrospection. They come away with advanced techniques including perimeter defense, hacking, forensics, and intrusion prevention.

This program prepares students for the CompTIA Security+, EC-Council Certified Network Defender (CND), and EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification exams. Students who complete the program qualify for the following job roles: Cyber Security Specialist, Data Security Analyst, Information Security Analyst, Information Security Auditor, Site Security Administrator

These roles are high-paying and in-demand. For example, the starting salary for an Information Security Analyst is an average of $59,784, and the range for the position caps out at $111,000.
